<p>The University of Sydney invites candidates who are eligible to undertake a Postgraduate Research Degree or Master’s by Research program at this University to apply for the University of Sydney<a title=" International Research Scholarship" href="http://www.scholarshipstimes.com/" target="_blank"><strong> International Research Scholarship</strong></a> (USydIS).  The objective of the USydIS is to attract top quality international postgraduate students to undertake research projects which will enhance the University’s research activities.<b> </b></p>
<p><b>Host Institution: </b>University of Sydney in Australia (Course starts 2014-2015)<b> </b></p>
<p><b>Study: </b>The USydIS is open to all research disciplines; however participation in the USydIS program each semester is at the discretion of the Dean of each faculty.<b> </b></p>
<p><b>Target group: </b>International students wishing to pursue a research program at the University.<b> </b></p>
<p><b>Cover: </b>The USydIS will cover tuition fees and living allowance for up to three years with a possibility of one semester’s extension for PhD students.<b> </b></p>
<p><b>Eligibility: </b>In order to be eligible for the scholarship, you must be admitted as a student under a Postgraduate Research or Masters by Research Program at the University of Sydney. Inquire with the scholarship provider for more information.<b> </b></p>
<p><b>Application instructions: </b>Applicants, who wish to be considered for the IPRS and USydIS awards for semester 1, may indicate this by completing the relevant section of the Postgraduate Research Application Form. Applicants should first apply for entry to a PhD programme at the University of Sydney, and then submit a USYD-CSC <a title="Postgraduate Research Scholarship" href="http://www.scholarshipstimes.com/category/scholarships-levels/phd-or-doctorate/" target="_blank"><strong>Postgraduate Research Scholarship</strong></a> application.<b> </b></p>
<p>To be considered for the USydIS for semester 1 (MARCH), applications for admission to a research degree MUST be received by the International Office by 31 July of the previous year.  To be considered for the USydIS for semester 2 (JULY), applications for admission to a research degree MUST be received by the International Student Office by 15 December of the previous year.<b> </b></p>

<p>* Candidates must be nationals from China.</p>

<p>* Candidates must be classified as international students (overseas) for fees purposes.</p>
<p>* Candidates must hold and have accepted online an offer of a study place for PhD in Chemical Engineering at Queen&#8217;s commencing in September 2013.</p>
<p>* The scholarship cannot be held in conjunction with another Queen&#8217;s University Belfast scholarship or tuition fee reduction. If students are offered more than one University award, the one most appropriate to the student&#8217;s circumstances will be selected.</p>
<p>* For the scholarship to be included on CAS certificates for visa purposes, successful applicants must have paid the required deposits no later than 31 July 2013.</p>
<p>* The scholarships are solely for enrolment in September 2013 and cannot be deferred.</p>

Scholarships are open to international students applying for a Higher Degree by Research course (PhD, Masters by Research or Professional Doctorate). These scholarships are awarded on the basis of academic merit and only applicants with outstanding academic results are likely to be successful. Recipients of the VUIPRS receive a living allowance of $ 22,860 per annum (2013 rate) for the duration of the scholarship.</i><b> </b></p>
<p><b>About Scholarship: </b>The purpose of these scholarships is to support high quality research by assisting students with excellent academic qualifications who wish to participate in postgraduate research programs in Australia. These scholarships are awarded on the basis of academic merit and it should be noted that the competition is intense and only those applicants with outstanding academic results are likely to be successful. The International Postgraduate Research Scholarship (IPRS) covers the full tuition costs, overseas student health cover and a <a title="VU International Postgraduate Research Scholarship" href="http://www.scholarshipstimes.com/" target="_blank"><strong>VU International Postgraduate Research Scholarship</strong></a> which provides a living allowance of $22,860 per annum.<b> </b></p>
<p><b>Study: </b>Applied Informatics, Diversity and Wellbeing, Education, Diversity and Lifelong Learning, Supply Chain, Logistics and Transport, Sport, Exercise Science and Active Living, Strategic Economics and Sustainable Environmental Technology <b></b></p>
<p><b>Course Level: </b>Postgraduate Research course (PhD, Masters by Research or Professional Doctorate)</p>
<p><b>Scholarship By: </b>Victoria University in Australia</p>
<p><b>Location: </b>Australia</p>
<p><b>Duration: </b>The VUIPRS is normally provided for 36 months for Doctoral studies and 24 months for Masters Studies. Students are expected to complete their study in the minimum time for their course. VU scholarships only have provision in the living stipend component for ONE extension for a maximum of six months for a Doctoral student only. A maximum of TWO extensions to the course length of Doctoral studies (granted in blocks of six months full-time – 12 months in total) may be granted where the University is satisfied that the extension is based on grounds that are beyond the control of the candidate and related to the research rather than of a personal nature.<b> </b></p>
<p><b>Value: </b>Recipients of the VUIPRS receive a living allowance of $ 22,860 per annum (2013 rate) for the duration of the scholarship. In addition, each recipient receives an Executive Dean’s International Scholarship to cover tuition fees for the duration of the scholarship.<b> </b></p>
<p><b>Eligibility: </b>To be eligible for a VUIPRS, applicants must:</p>
<p>-Be a citizen of any country other than Australia or New Zealand</p>
<p>-Have completed a four year undergraduate degree, or equivalent. For example:</p>
<p>-a four year undergraduate degree (e.g. Engineering or Law);</p>
<p>-a three year degree and an Honours year;</p>
<p>-a three year degree and a postgraduate diploma at an advanced level; or</p>
<p>-a three year degree and one year of a higher degree</p>
<p>Victoria University’s International Postgraduate Research Scholarships are open to international students applying for a Higher Degree by Research course (PhD, Masters by Research or Professional Doctorate).  These scholarships are typically targeted to building research activity and capacity in Victoria University’s areas of research focus.<b> </b></p>
<p><b>Scholarship Open for: </b>International students (except Australia and New Zealand) can apply<b> </b></p>
<p><b>Selection Criteria: </b>Applications are assessed against the eligibility criteria for the VUIPRS. Those deemed eligible are forwarded to Faculty committees for further assessment and ranking. Faculties are required to rank applications on the basis of academic merit. Competition for these scholarships is intense and only those applicants with outstanding academic results are likely to be successful. Please supply actual marks for subjects where available. To assist Faculties in the process of assessing academic merit, the following information should be included in or attached to the application:-Academic results of all tertiary studies.</p>
<p>-Any tertiary prizes, awards or scholarships.</p>
<p>-Details of research projects/minor thesis for the highest qualifying degree. Include overall grade of research component, percentage of research in the program and examiners’ reports (if available).</p>
<p>-Relevant research work experience.</p>
<p>-Publications–including percentage contribution of applicant, whether accepted for publication, or published, and nature of publication (e.g. refereed journal article, report, conference abstract, etc).</p>
<p>-Relevant employment experience.</p>
<p>In addition, all applicants must arrange for two confidential referee’s reports to be independently completed and submitted.</p>
<p>These are also considered in the Faculty and University assessment process. A University Ranking Committee reviews the Faculty Order of Merit lists to determine a University</p>
<p>-wide Order of Merit based on academic merit and research potential. The final ranking and scholarship allocation is completed in the second week of December.<b> </b></p>
<p><b>Notification: </b>All applicants will receive written notification of the result of their scholarship application after 12 December 2013.</p>

<p>1 -Submit a scholarship application to the Admissions and Scholarships Coordinator in the Graduate Research Centre.</p>

<p>The International <a title="Postgraduate Research Scholarships" href="http://www.scholarshipstimes.com/category/scholarships-levels/post-graduate/" target="_blank"><strong>Postgraduate Research Scholarships</strong></a> (IPRS) program is funded by the Australian Government, Department of Innovation, Industry, Science and Research (DIISR).  The IPRS program was established to maintain and develop international research linkages and specifically aims to:</p>
<p>• attract top quality international postgraduate students to areas of research strength in Australian higher education providers; and</p>
<p>• support Australia’s research effort.<b> </b></p>
<p>The IPRS program enables international students to undertake a postgraduate research qualification in Australia and gain experience with leading Australian researchers.  The scholarships are available for a period of two years for a Masters by research degree or three years for a Doctorate by research degree.<b> </b></p>
<p><b>Host Institutions: </b>Australian Universities<b> </b>(Course starts 2014)</p>
<p><b>Field of study: </b>Any postgraduate research programme offered at participating Australian Universities.<b> </b></p>
<p><b>Number of Awards: </b>Around 330 are awarded annually. The allocation of <a title="IPRS grants" href="http://www.scholarshipstimes.com/" target="_blank"><strong>IPRS grants</strong></a> to participating universities is based on a formula that is reflective of their overall research performance.<b> </b></p>
<p><b>Target group: </b>Scholarships are open to international students of all countries (except Australia and New Zealand).<b></b></p>
<p><b>Scholarship value/inclusions: </b>The scholarship covers tuition fees, living allowance, and health cover costs.<b> </b></p>
<p><b>Eligibility: </b>To be eligible for an IPRS, a student must:</p>
<p>(a) be an international student; and</p>
<p>(b) meet international student visa requirements as specified by the Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC), including the requirement to purchase and maintain a standard Overseas Student Health Cover policy approved by the Commonwealth Government Department of Health and Ageing; and</p>
<p>(c) be commencing full-time enrolment for the first time in a HDR at an eligible scholarship provider in Australia; and</p>
<p>(d) be undertaking study in a subject area identified by the provider as one of its areas of research concentration; and</p>
<p>(e) not hold a research qualification regarded by the provider to be equivalent to an Australian Research Doctorate degree or, if undertaking a Research Masters degree, not hold a research qualification regarded by the provider to be equivalent to or higher than an Australian Research Masters degree; and</p>
<p>(f) not have held an Australian Agency for International Development (AusAID) scholarship within the two years prior to commencing the IPRS; and</p>
<p>(g) not be receiving a scholarship for which course tuition is a component under any other scholarship scheme to which the Australian Government makes a substantial contribution.</p>
<p>You must check with the Universities if they require specific eligibility requirements.<b> </b></p>
<p><b>Application instructions: </b>Applications for a scholarship need to be made directly to a participating Universities/Higher Education Providers (HEPs) in Australia. HEPs are responsible for determining the selection process by which scholarships are allocated to applicants.<b> </b><b> </b></p>

<p><b>About Scholarship: </b>Research projects in the Macular Research Group are focused on the cellular and molecular mechanisms Save Sight Institute of Müller glial-neuronal-vascular interactions in retinal diseases. The group has made significant contributions to modelling retinal disease both in vivo and in vitro, and has recently successfully constructed a transgenic mouse in which Müller cells can be specifically targeted using a Cre-Lox system in order to study the role of Müller cell dysfunction in retinal disease.</p>
<p>The results of this study have been published in Journal of Neuroscience (Shen W et al. 2012;32:15715–15727). A full time <a title="postgraduate scholarship" href="http://www.scholarshipstimes.com/" target="_blank">postgraduate scholarship</a> is available in the Macular Research group in 2013. The research project can be related to any aspect of the cellular and molecular mechanisms of Müller glial-neuronal-vascular interactions and exploration of approaches for neuroprotection and inhibition of blood-retinal barrier breakdown in the transgenic model.<b> </b></p>

In addition, each successful IPRS recipient will be offered an ECU International Stipend (ECUIS) to meet living costs for the same period. <p>Course Requirements:</p>
<p>-Applicants should have completed at least four years of tertiary education study at a high level of achievement for example:</p>
<p>-Four year degree (e.g. Engineering or Law)</p>
<p>-Three year degree and one of the following:</p>
<p>-Honours year</p>
<p>-One year of a higher degree</p>
<p>-One year of a Masters preliminary or other qualifying programme</p>
<p>-Postgraduate diploma</p>
<p>The awardees should also have:</p>
<p>-Completed a Bachelor Degree with First Class Honours, or be regarded by the ECU as having an equivalent level of attainment</p>
<p>-Must have their course application for study in the PhD or Master by research programme approved by ECU before being considered for an offer of a scholarship</p>
<p>-Where an offer of a place in the course is conditional, an applicant is normally not eligible for scholarship consideration until that condition has been met.</p>
<p>-The intention to undertake study in a course and research topic within one of the University’s areas of research activity</p>
<p>-Please note:</p>
<p>-Not all degree combinations will be considered by the University to be equivalent to an Australian First Class Honours degree</p>
<p>-A student with a two-year Masters degree, but no Bachelors degree, may be considered with other masters graduates if the University regards this as equivalent</p>
<p>Exclusions-To be eligible Applicants must not have previously gained or currently hold any of the following:</p>
<p>-Research doctorate, which is deemed the equivalent of an Australian research doctorate degree</p>
<p>-Master by research degree if seeking admission to Master by research degree</p>
<p>-Another substantial scholarship provided by ECU (e.g., faculty, school or research centre scholarship) or an external provider<b> </b></p>
<p><b>Other Exclusions/Limitations</b></p>
<p>-Applicants enrolled in, or intending to enroll in, the Doctor of Occupational and Environmental Safety and Health (L23) are ineligible to apply for a Postgraduate Research Scholarship</p>
<p>-Applicants undertaking the four-year Doctor of Philosophy (Psychology) (U93) are only eligible to apply for a postgraduate research scholarship after the completion of the first year of the course. A scholarship will ONLY cover the three (3) years of full-time research</p>
<p>-Applicants undertaking the four-year Doctor of Psychology by research (T29) are eligible to apply for a postgraduate research scholarship although the duration of the scholarship would ONLY cover three (3) years</p>
<p>-Additional Eligibility requirements for International Students</p>
<p>-Applicants must:-meet international student visa requirements as specified by the Department of Immigration and Citizenship, including the requirement to purchase and maintain a standard Overseas Student Health Cover policy approved by the Department of Health and Ageing</p>
<p>-Meet all University admission requirements, including English proficiency, and be made an unconditional offer of a place in a higher degree by research (either a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) or Master by research)</p>
<p>-Not currently be receiving a scholarship provided by the Australian Agency for International Development (AusAID) or have completed an AusAID scholarship within the last two years</p>

<p>Letter of Support from the applicant’s supervisor containing a statement on the research capabilities of the student, suitability of the student for a Supplementary Scholarship, what the Supplementary Scholarship will contribute towards i.e. stipend, conference, travel and equipment and also the start date of the project.</p>

<p><b>About Scholarship: </b>The scholarship is offered by the James Henry Green Charitable Trust through the James Green Centre for World Art at Royal Pavilion &amp; Museums (RP&amp;M), Brighton &amp; Hove. The purpose of the award is to build and share knowledge about RP&amp;M’s rich holdings of material and visual culture from Africa, Asia, the Pacific and Americas.</p>
<p>For this reason the main requirement of the award is that the proposed doctoral research project considers some aspect of the World Art collection. Other requirements include a yearly report and, at some point during the scholarship, a public outcome for staff and visitors to Brighton Museum &amp; Art Gallery (for example a talk, display or web article about the research project).</p>
<p>The scholarship-holder is also expected to make a presentation on the subject of their doctoral research to the Trustees of the James Henry Green Charitable Trust at one of their annual general meetings during their tenure of the scholarship.<b> </b></p>

<p><strong>Scholarship Details:</strong></p>
<p>* Course tuition fees for two years for a masters degree by Research and three years for a Doctoral research degree (an extension is possible for doctoral programs only).</p>
<p>* All successful IPRS applicants will also receive an Australian Postgraduate Award (APA) which provides an annual living allowance of approximately $23,728 (2012 value) for the normal duration of the program.</p>
<p>* If the award holder holds a subclass 574 visa the award covers the cost of compulsory standard Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) World care policy for the student and their spouse and dependents (if any) for the period of the scholarship. If the award holder does not hold a subclass 574 visa then he/she is responsible for the cost of health insurance.<strong> </strong></p>
<p><strong>Eligibility Criteria:</strong></p>
<p>* A student must not have held an AusAID scholarship within the 2 years prior to commencing the IPRS.</p>
<p>* Scholarships holders must commence study at The University of Adelaide in Semester 1 or Semester 2, 2014. No IPRS may be commenced after 31 August.</p>
<p>* Scholarship winners will not be permitted to defer commencement until 2015.</p>
<p>* Applicants who applied in previous international major scholarship rounds are not eligible to apply again.<strong> </strong></p>

<p><strong>About Scholarship: </strong>The International Postgraduate Research Scholarship (IPRS) scheme is funded by the Commonwealth Government through the Department of Education, Employment &amp; Workplace Relations (DEEWR). Its purpose is to attract high quality overseas postgraduate students to areas of research strength in higher education institutions to support Australia’s research effort. Approximately 15 scholarships may be available in 2014 for international students from any country undertaking postgraduate research in areas of University research strengths.<strong> </strong></p>
<p><strong>Study: </strong>Engineering and Environmental Sciences, Biological and Agriculture Sciences, Humanities, Law and Creative Arts, Mathematical, Information and Computing Sciences, Physical, Chemical and Earth Sciences, Social and Behavioral Sciences and Medical and Health Sciences<strong></strong></p>
<p><strong>Course Level: </strong>Master’s degree by research and three years for a doctoral research degree</p>

<p><strong>Value:</strong></p>
<p>-Course tuition fees for two years for a Masters degree by Research and three years for a Doctoral research degree (an extension is possible for doctoral programs only)</p>
<p>-All successful IPRS applicants will also receive an Australian Postgraduate Award (APA) which provides an annual living allowance of approximately $23,728 (2012 value) for the normal duration of the program; and</p>
<p>-If the award holder holds a subclass 574 visa the award covers the cost of compulsory standard Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) World care policy for the student and their spouse and dependents (if any) for the period of the scholarship. If the award holder does not hold a subclass 574 visa then he/she is responsible for the cost of health insurance.</p>
<p>-Commonwealth scholarship holders are exempt from visa application fees.<strong> </strong></p>
<p><strong>Eligibility:</strong></p>
<p>-Applicants should hold at least the equivalent of an Australian First Class Honours degree. This is a four year degree with a major research project in the final year. Other criteria that will be taken into consideration is undergraduate performance, bachelor and honours awards and scholarships, other postgraduate degrees, publications in refereed journals, the presentation of conference papers and relevant industry experience.</p>
<p>-Applications for these scholarships are always highly competitive.  Generally IPRS recipients have completed a Masters degree including a significant research component and have several publications and relevant work and research experience.<strong> </strong></p>
<p><strong>Selection criteria: </strong>IPRS Scholarships will be awarded on academic merit and to applicants applying research strength. Extra-curricular achievements will not be considered.<strong> </strong></p>

<p>-You should have, or expect to achieve, a first or upper second class UK honours degree or equivalent qualifications gained outside the UK in an appropriate area of study. Those applying for a doctoral studentship should normally have, or be studying for, a Masters degree or similar postgraduate qualification.</p>
<p>-You should be applying to start your first year of study on a full-time or part-time programme of eligible postgraduate study, within the AHRC’s subject areas listed above. AHRC scholarship funding begins on 1st October each year. Students who will  be entering their second year of postgraduate study are also eligible to apply but should speak to their academic department before submitting an application.</p>
<p>-Awards are open to UK and EU applicants. The type of studentship awarded is based on an applicant’s residency status.<strong> </strong></p>

<p>The University of Sheffield offers three types of AHRC award:</p>
<p><strong>Doctoral Awards – </strong>funding for full or part-time study leading to a doctoral degree (PhD). For 2013-14, we are inviting applications in the following subject areas: Librarianship, Archives, Record Management &amp; Information Science; Asian Language &amp; Culture; all subject areas in the Faculty of Arts &amp; Humanities.<strong></strong></p>
<p><strong>Research Preparation Masters (RPM) Awards – </strong>funding for Masters courses where the focus is on advanced study and research training that is explicitly intended to provide a foundation for further research at doctoral level. For 2012-13, we are inviting RPM applications for subjects in the Faculty of Arts &amp; Humanities.</p>
<p><strong>Professional Preparation Masters (PPM) Awards – </strong>funding for Masters courses where the focus is on the development of high-level skills and competences as a preparation for professional practice in a field relevant to the content of the course. For 2012-13, these are available in:</p>
<p>Archaeology; Design; Interpreting &amp; Translation; Journalism &amp; Publishing; Librarianship, Archives, Record Management &amp; Information Science.<strong> </strong></p>
<p><strong>Duration: </strong>Awards for doctoral study are tenable for a maximum of three years full-time and five years part-time subject to satisfactory progress. Awards for Masters study are tenable for between 9-12 months full-time and 12-24 months part-time.<strong> </strong></p>
<p><strong>Cover: </strong>The type of AHRC scholarship awarded is based on an applicant’s residency status. UK applicants and EU applicants who have been resident in the UK for at least 3 years immediately preceding the start of their course are eligible for the full scholarship. This pays:</p>
<p>* the standard UK/EU tuition fees</p>
<p>* an annual, tax-free maintenance stipend at the standard UK research rate, currently £13,590 for Doctoral students, £9,490 for Research * Preparation Masters students, and £8,845 for Professional Preparation Masters students.</p>
<p>* Doctoral students are entitled to apply for additional funds to support fieldwork and conference attendance.</p>
<p>* EU applicants who have not been resident in the UK for 3 years immediately preceding the start of their course are eligible for a fees-only award, paying the standard UK/EU tuition fees only.</p>

The Institute is home to a number of internationally renowned scholars, contributing to the University of Western Sydney receiving the highest ranking for research quality – well above world standard – in Cultural Studies (Excellence in Research for Australia 2010).<strong> </strong></p>

<p><strong>Eligibility: </strong>Good Bachelor Honours degree (Class 1 or 2.1), or equivalent qualifications and/or experience. Research or professional experience in a relevant field of humanities or social science. Candidates with backgrounds in cultural studies, sociology, anthropology, human geography, cultural history, media and communication studies, Asian studies and other disciplines are encouraged to apply. International applications are welcome.<strong> </strong></p>
<p><strong>Scholarship Open for Students of Following Countries: </strong>This scholarship is open for International and Domestic applicant’s students.<strong> </strong></p>
<p><strong>Duration: </strong>The tenure for doctorates is usually three years, and for research masters two years. The tenure of the award will be reduced by any previous study undertaken toward the degree at any Institution.<strong> </strong></p>
<p><strong>Value: </strong>Tax-free stipend of AUD33, 728 per annum (with an increase for 2013) and a funded place in the doctoral degree.<strong> </strong></p>
<p><strong>Selection criteria: </strong>The criteria for allocation of awards are primarily based on academic merit. Academic merit includes undergraduate performance, bachelor Honours awards, other postgraduate degrees, publications in refereed journals, and the presentation of conference papers. When assessing applicants, the selection panel may take into consideration other relevant experience. Please provide full bibliographic details of publications.<strong> </strong></p>
