Eligibility: Relevant candidates must hold a Master degree or equivalent academic qualifications. The ideal candidate has a background in health economics.

Besides exam grades, the skills and qualifications that will be emphasized in ranking of candidates include:-

  1. Excellent communication skills in English – fluency in Norwegian is not a requirement albeit desirable.
  2. Solid knowledge of economics, health economic topics, and especially practical experience with decision analytic modelling would be advantageous.
  3. Some experience in the use of open source software such as R, Python or equivalents – preferably also knowledge of Bayesian simulation methods in such languages.
  4. Experience with cost estimation of health care services (e.g. capital and unit costs), and a good acquaintance with the instruments for describing, and valuing health.
  5. Previous work experience within academic research, and/or relevant work in the health technology industry would also be a qualifying factor.
  6. Experience with and knowledge of economic evaluation of genetic technologies
  7. Good cooperation skills

The ideal candidate is highly motivated, self-driven and with an interest for independent research. In the ranking of competent applicants, the whole range of qualifications shall be considered and assessed. Personal suitability and cooperation skills will receive special attention in the selection process. Short-listed applicants may be invited for an interview.
