|Eligibility:||>> Eligible for admission to UNSW as research candidates within CSE or EET, or within a school or department that offers ICT research programs linked with CSE or EET
>> Supervised by a university-appointed panel including at least one NICTA-affiliated researcher and one academic in the school of enrolment
>> Proposing, or undertaking, a research project aligned with NICTA’s Research Groups, Business Teams and supervisory capabilities
>> Candidates deemed competitive, in the joint NICTA-UNSW selection process, as an applicant for an APA or IPRS award.
Normally, NICTA scholarships are only available to candidates whose NICTA-supported research can be undertaken without third-party encumbrances that could affect the (resolution of) ownership of any resulting intellectual property. Students in receipt of an APA(I) or similar award should be mindful of this condition.

>> Make informal contact with a NICTA Research Group Leader for advice on constructing a research proposal that would align with NICTA’s Research Groups, Business Teams and associated projects.
>> Apply for admission to the UNSW PhD program within the School of Computer Science and Engineering or Electrical Engineering and Telecommunications, or another school with an intended supervisor who is involved in collaborative ICT research with either of these schools and with NICTA.
>> Apply for any appropriate Australian Government or university scholarships. Local students should apply for an APA or University Postgraduate Award (UPA) and international students should apply for an IPRS or University International Postgraduate Award (UIPA). See the UNSW GRS Website.
>> Apply for a NICTA scholarship by completing the application form.
>> Supply the names and contact details of two referees, and ask them to complete and return the UNSW Referee report to the address email@example.com.
Once all the information has been received by NICTA (National ICT Australia) and the assessment of the submitted documents is complete, you will be informed about your selection in the same.
