About Scholarship: The School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at The University of Newcastle, New South Wales, Australia is offering a full PhD scholarship to either domestic or international applicants. The PhD candidate is to conduct research in the area of network information theory, with a focus on wireless relay communications.

Eligibility: Applicants are required to have achieved honours class one or have other equivalent research based qualifications. The applicant is also expected to have good knowledge in digital communications, a strong foundation in mathematics and be able to satisfy the University’s English proficiency policy.
Scholarship Open for: Domestic or international applicant can apply
Cover: The scholarship meets the full tuition fees and overseas student health cover costs for a period of three years. It also provides a tax-free living allowance of AUD 24, 653 per annum (2013 rate, indexed annually). All University of Newcastle students have access to a minimum of AUD 1,500 per annum for research related expenses and are issued a new laptop on their commencement. The successful candidate may also apply for a six-month extension to the scholarship on research related grounds.
