Applications are invited by IIT-Guwahati for admission to the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) programme starting in December 2012.
Institute assistantships will be available to eligible PhD students as per prevailing (MHRD, GOI) norms, as applicable from time to time. The present rates of assistantships are as below:
BE/BTech/MSc equivalent with valid and qualifying GATE score [valid and qualifying CEED score (for Dept. of Design)] above the prescribed cut off level/NET/INSPIRE qualification: 1st & 2nd Year: Rs.16,000/- p.m.
[GATE/CEED/NET/INSPIRE score/certificate requirement is exempted for a candidate with Bachelor’s (BTech/BDes) or Master’s (M.A./M.Sc.) degree from an Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) with minimum CPI of 8.0] 3rd to5th Year: Rs.18,000/- p.m.
ME/MTech or equivalent 1st & 2nd Year: Rs.18,000/- p.m.
3rd & 4th Year #: Rs.20,000/- p.m.
