About Scholarship: This doctoral project focuses on the development, testing and benchmarking of an iso-kinetic probe for measuring the ice particle and water droplet content of clouds in icing test facilities such as those used to develop and certify aircraft probes, lifting surfaces and aero engines. The researcher will have the opportunity to work with our European partners on a range of icing and cloud instruments in order to see what role the iso-kinetic probe might have as a reference instrument.

Cover: Total offer For UK/EU students will receive a tax fee stipend of £ 13,590 per year and for overseas students the fees will be fully funded and a stipend of approximately £4000.
Eligibility: -The ideal candidate will have studied or worked at degree level or had industrial or practical experience providing a good grounding in fluid mechanics, thermodynamics and in the design and making of gadgets, circuits and small software projects.
-An interest in laboratory work and how things work is essential.
