Eligibility: Candidates should have recently completed or be about to complete a Masters degree, and are expected subsequently to conduct research at doctoral level. The research undertaken at the BIAA should normally be preparatory and designed to underpin a funding application for a PhD. Applicants for the position must be of British/Commonwealth nationality or normally resident in the UK and must have a demonstrable connection with a UK academic institution. The position will be based at the Institute in Ankara.

Scholarship Description: British Institute at Ankara (BIAA) The objectives of the BIAA are: -to enable UK scholars across the humanities and social sciences to undertake world-class original research and fieldwork focused on Turkey and the Black Sea littoral region; -to encourage and facilitate collaborative research with other UK institutions and with scholars and institutions in Turkey and the Black Sea littoral region; to maintain a centre of research excellence in Ankara focused on the archaeology, history and related subjects of Turkey.
What does it covers: The salary for the position will be £800 per month. The BIAA will pay the cost of one return flight between the UK and Turkey.
