The scholarships are offered by the Philip J. Farrell Memorial Scholarship Fund to a graduating high school senior boy and girl playing in the Big “I” Junior Classic program. Mr. Farrell was a past president of MAIA who took up the game of golf late in life. He was never a great golfer (in fact, he was a pretty dreadful golfer), but he loved the game of golf and the Big “I” Junior Classic program. The application is reproducible, so please feel free to share it with students in your school who are active in the Big “I” Junior Classic.
Qualified applicants will each have the opportunity to be awarded a $1,000 scholarship. If you do not participate in the Big I Junior Classic golf tournament, please do not complete the application as you will not be considered for one of these scholarships.
