Eligibility: Indian faculty/researchers should have a Ph.D. degree or equivalent published work with at least five years of college/university level teaching experience; professionals outside academe should have a Ph.D. degree or equivalent published work with recognized professional standing and at least five years relevant experience; if employed, applications should be routed through proper channel; and preferably be 50 years of age or under.
Scholarship Description: A comparative or cross cultural perspective is encouraged. Indian academics and professionals contribute to internationalization of the curriculum at their US host institutions and understanding of recent developments in India.
The recipient will be affiliated as a visiting scholar at a US college, university or research institution, and will teach courses (individually or team-teach), or offer a series of seminars at the US host institution. Applicants should be familiar with the US educational system.
Although USIEF does not require applicants to have a letter of affiliation from a US institution at the time of applying, it encourages that all applicants correspond, in advance, with potential host institutions. If you are selected for an award but are unable to arrange an affiliation or name an institution in the US with which you would want to be affiliated, USIEF will help secure placement.
