Scholarship applications are now being accepted for mountain students planning to attend California State University, San Bernardino in the fall of 2012.
The CSUSB Mountain Communities Scholarship Committee has awarded over $441,000 to 103 deserving mountain residents over the past six years including three Perkins scholarships worth $20,000 each.
Funding for the scholarships is a result of the efforts of Neale and Patricia Perkins, a small but dedicated group of volunteers, and many very generous donors.
Scholarships will be awarded to students attending CSUSB. Applicants must be residents of the greater Lake Arrowhead mountain communities, encompassed by the Rim of the World Unified School District. Scholarships are available to all majors, with preference given to education/liberal studies, nursing or health care-related majors.
Financial need considered but not essential. Students may have full or part-time status as an undergraduate or graduate student. Scholarship recipients may reapply yearly if they maintain a minimum 3.0 grade point average.
For more information or to download an application, visit mtnscholarships.csusb.edu or search “CSUSB Mountain Communities Scholarship.”

Current scholarship recipients who are reapplying need only to include current personal information, proof of enrollment and proof of grades received at CSUSB.
